Watchmen and Dr. Manhattan’s Huge Blue Dong
The Watchmen movie, if nothing else, stuck close to the graphic novel as much as a Hollywood movie could. Eliminated from the flick are the entire “Tales of the Black Freighter” and “Under the Hood” sub-plots as well as the entire newstand banter for obvious time reasons.
The Watchmen cram most of the rest of the story into the 2 hour, 43 minute runtime with the excepton of one giant-ass squid. While that’s to be debated by the Fanboys for some time there really needs to be some kudos handed out to Director Zack Snyder and his gang for doing the most important thing about making the Watchmen into a movie: Not screwing it up.
Of course on the IMax version of the film you get a detailed view of Dr. Manhattan’s anatomy….let’s just say they didn’t leave that part out.
